You're pretty much doing the recommended exercise, so I wouldn't worry about it. You could try some push ups to focus on the hands a little but you would only need to do two or three.

In vest in body warmers ^-^

I find swinging my arms round helps a lot.

I agree that if you are walking at at decent pace, you have probably got the optimum out of the exercise idea.
I however was doing nothing & being hugely overweight, joined a gym with a friend attending three times a week. Because cardio type exercise was new to my body! (Shame on me!), it has made a huge difference to the circulation in my hands and feet - sadly it is not helping with the joint pain, but I have decided that this is what the occassional painkiller is for. The improvement seems to be constant as long as we go regulaly - not simply an immediate but short lived after effect immediately after the exercise.

Hi sandycharlie. It seems to me that you are doing quite well with your excercises whilst walking your dog. The docs are always going on about diet and excercise. Do what feels comfortable to yourself and try not to get yourself too worn out. I have an awful bad back and osteoarthritis as well as everything else. I wish I could do even a fraction of the walking you do but I do as much as I comfortably can. Just enjoy life as much as possible and remember, everything in moderation. The docs are well meaning they but can never imagine how hard it is for us to manage from day to day. Just make sure you are nice and warm, enjoy gentle walks with your lovely dog and be kind to yourself. An excercise bike won't do any harm if it's what you want but to me, it doesn't sound as if you need it. Best wishes.

I go to the gym 2 or 3 times a week and my job can be quite physical. However it hasn't helped my Raynauds at all. I get so cold just walking to the gym, by the time I get there I have no feeling in my hands and feet. I wear silver gloves to go on the cross trainer as the metal is too cold and it takes me about 20 minutes of fast activity just to get the circulation going again. Then when I've finished, I get extremely cold very quickly walking home and need to have an extremely hot bath to warm up again.

Any exercise where you can keep warm is good. I find that with the Raynaud's in my feet if I walk in the cold my feet just get colder! Swimming in warm water is one of the best forms of exercise if you are that way inclined. Otherwise what you are already doing sounds fine.

I go to the gym every single day and train hard, it has made no difference to my raynauds at all. I only have to step back outside and bam, there it is again!
